It's not a 125, it's happy whatever rpm you pull, (breaking rev limit allowing) I would say for now keep the RPM low, around 2-4k this way your not having to deal with loads of bhp, it'll keep it all smooth at that rpm range. later you'll want to keep it singing around the 5-6k range and then...

Faulty shock unit, I'm 200lbs and even with a pillion I don't bottom the suspension out which I have set to 8.......looks like the constant force of bottoming the shock out on the arms has weakend them to the point they have failed. Not heard of anyone else on here bottoming out there shocks...

Yeah I went with a slightly softer compound which also has a thicker area where your fingers wrap around. The standard FZ8 grips are horible, far to hard.

I had a similar incident..........wasn't your forks out! the FZ8 bars are shall we say a cxrumple zone, they bend really easily..........mine did and I too thought the whole front was out of whack! On a flat suface I measured the bar ends were actualy only quater of an inch out but it was enough...
