Why so many motorcycle whips all of a sudden?

Saw one for the first time on Memorial day. Dude on a harley in a t-shirt and Brett Michaels bandana. (shocker) All I could think of was, that I dont want to be behind him when that thing gets tangled up on something. Plus his was on the throttle side. Seems to me that if it was for high speed...

    RyanSterling's Mods

I think I gave a rundown in this thread previously. Not that hard really, just get a headlight bucket you like and make some brackets. the rest is really just wiring and cleaning and relocating factory stuff.

It's been a while but wanted to update. Got a wild hair up my #$#$ and decided I wanted to hard mount my luggage. So out came the mig. I put 460+ miles on the bike over the weekend some interstate but mostly canyons and it held up great. For anyone who can weld this was actually really easy. I...

    Production Numbers

Technically I think it is the last 4 numbers in the vin. For instance mine is 0051. Making mine #51 produced.

    Brake lines

Yup, my mightyvac is easily one of my favorite tools. Much better than the old pump and hold method.

Whats the first thing you want to do?

Buddies and I are planning a trip to Palm Springs. Taking the backroads like the 74. Renting a house for the weekend and doing some riding out there for the weekend. Should be a good time.

    Michelin Pilot Power 3

Am I the only Pirelli guy here? Anyone tried the Diablo Rosso II's? I know it is comparing dollars to donuts and all but.... The Pirelli sport demons I put on my Triumph were the single best mod I have done to that bike. I even took it out for a track day last year with em and couldn't have...

If you look close there is actually a thin red pinstripe on ether side of the white. So it exactly doesn't match my jacket, which was bought for my Triumph anyways, oh well. Thanks guys I appreciate the kind words. Iv'e thought about ditching the reflectors but honestly just keep forgetting...

    RyanSterling's Mods

Especially with my magical non-stock suspension. I had actually just had an Oh-S^$# moment a few turns back before the picture. Was leaving the rock store and hit a section that was still wet. Between that and cold tires the ass end slid out on me and sapped my courage :( I still have a long way...

    RyanSterling's Mods

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I actually kind of wish I had gone with black levers and red adjusters. The gold on the current ones is a bit much for me. Might just powder coat or anodize them.

As promised, a new pic of the bike as it looks now. Levers are new and I blacked out the headlight trim ring. It actually makes me want to remove the stripe and just run it black for a while. Does my side stand look super low to anyone else? Anyways, taken on Mulholland last weekend while out...

    What you reading?

Several years ago when I first moved to LA, I was meeting this girl at the Rainbow room. There is an outside sort of corner bar, and since I was a bit early I decided to belly up and have a beer. You see rocker looking types in hollywood so I didn't pay much attention to the guy sitting next to...

    What you reading?

Yup, I actually just watched that a few weeks ago on netflix. Freaking inspiring stuff.

    What you reading?

I'm reading "Long way down" at the moment. It's Ewan McGregors book about his ride from Scotland to South Africa. It's a good read, makes you want to by a BMW GS and quit your job. I like books like that.

    Hawaii

A good riding buddy of mine has a house over there and he is there every chance he gets. Absolutely loves it. It is expensive as all hell though so make sure compensation is equally adjusted so as not to effect your standard of living.

    What boots?

I have the Astars SMX plus' and I freaking love them. I really wanted something with roll control in the ankle but that was comfortable enough for touring and they totally fit the bill. Honestly they are so comfortable I never even think about the fact that I am wearing them vs. street boots.
