Holy shit ! How many cars have you owned ?

Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2

I'll ride a motorcycle for a little while, then something else comes along that catches my eye and "I absolutely have to buy it". I had a friend that used to say when it was either time for me to wash it or change the oil then that was surely a sign I was about to either sell or trade.

It's been expensive, but it's my hobby and I enjoy it.

Quite a few dirts bikes, 70's CB 750, 80 something Yamaha Maxium, two 84 Honda Nighthawk S (sold the first one then a few months later got the second), 86 VFR700 and Current 08 Bandit 1250. The long break was waiting for the kids to grow up. Waiting on the 2013 FZ8 to come in. Absolute favorite was the Nighthawk S. Not my bike in the photo

Ya, I know what you mean ;) I got back into bikes about 11 years ago and I think I have went thru 20 of them.

84 Yamaha XJ750
85 Yamaha FZ750
95 Suzuki GSXR1100
2004 Suzuki Marauder 800
97 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500
2001 Honda VTR1000
2005 Kawasaki ZZR600
2001 Yamaha R6
2003 Yamaha R1 (had a bent frame, had for 2 weeks)
2003 Suzuki GSXR1000
2006 Yamaha Vstar 1100
2005 Yamaha Roadstar 1700
2007 Honda CBR1000RR
2007 Yamaha Vmax
2005 Yamaha FZ1000 (had for a month, had a coolant issue)
2007 Yamaha R1
2009 Yamaha R1
2011 Yamaha Vstar
2008 Yamaha Warrior
2011 Yamaha Fazer 8

Out of these, my favorites were,
85 Yamaha FZ750, 2001 Yamaha R6, 2007 Honda CBR100RR,
2007 and 2009 R1 and the 2011 Fazer 8.

Problem with the R1's was riding position. I loved the handling and performance but my old body complained. Neck and shoulders were really sore. So I tried cruisers. Riding position was fine but handling was not what I liked. The Fazer 8 is a good all rounder but sometimes lacks on the performance end. Looking at the FZ1 but economic reality is holding me back.
The Fazer is stored for winter now. Season is just too short up here.

The ones I remember off hand...

1969 Honda CB450
1979 Suzuki GS425
1979 Yamaha XS650
1984 Yamaha XJ750 Seca
1978 Yamaha XS Eleven
1971 Suzuki GT750 (Two stroke triple)
2012 Yamaha FZ8

Most of these were in the garage more than on the street, but each one was a great experience.

My favorite? Hard to say. The GT750 was different- two stroke triple, water cooled and oil injected. Superbike of the early 70's. Something you don't ever see these days.

The XS650 was a great bike- easiest one to ride, and probably the most fun to cruise around on.

I guess if I had to pick one, it would be the CB450. No it wasn't fast, didn't handle that great, but it was a neat little bike. Had to sit halfway on the passenger area, but it was surprisingly comfortable- sort of a sportier seating position ;). It just had a certain feel to it that I can't explain, but I loved it!

Oh, I loved the kettle. A mate had one in the late 70's and I rode it several times. Made a great noise. Had a bizzare instrument cluster if I remember right.

I'm only 22 so not a big list for me. But here we go.

1: 1982 Suzuki GS450 (bobbed out with giant sprocket on the rear)
2: 1982 Honda Nighthawk 450
3: 1978 Kawasaki 650
4: 1998 Suzuki Katana 600
5: 2012 Yamaha FZ8 Baby..

Out of all the bikes obviously I love the 8...but there is a special place in my heart for my 82 GS450S. It was my first bike and I've always paid for my bikes with my money and never asked for help so it was my first bike that I paid for. The thing was a monster in any gear as the rear sprocket was ridiculous, use to wheelie 3rd just accelerating hard lol. The list is soon to get bigger as I am planning to build a custom chopper for fun and I want an enduro.

I've got a pretty short list:

'03 Honda Shadow Spirit
'08 Suzuki GSX650F
'81 Yamaha XS1100 Special (a project I bought and sold while owning the GSX650F
'12 FZ8
'78 Suzuki GS1000 (current project)

I've only got 400km on the FZ8 (damn winter), but I'm sure she will be my favourite. However, there is a real "cool factor" to the old bikes that you just don't get with the newer ones. I got alot of attention riding the XS1100. I'm looking forward to finishing the GS.
