I'm not on an 8, been on an FZ6R for over five years... and I've always shifted around 6-9krpms (redline is around 11) and kept my rpms up in the 5-7k while riding, now with over 60K miles on the bike and she runs just like new... I did do a demo ride on the 8 and about the same... it's a sport...

exactly... so many people misread the manual and baby it... just ride it, but if you're a new rider and not familiar with I4... be careful... that power band hits fast... even on my wimpy FZ6R, above 7K she screams... and can get you into trouble fast coming out of a corner

straight from the owners manual "Avoid prolonged operation" over xxx rpm until xxx miles... it never says you can't run it to redline from the lot, just don't run full throttle highway speeds... so just ride it!

IF anything, rev matching will make it shift easier, not sure why it would make it harder to shift. Check the clutch cable adjustment, make sure it has just a little slack. Make sure throttle isn't sticking, should snap right off when you release it.

FZ6???? r didn't come out until 2009. I would check the sister site: FZ6 Forum Community been around for a long time... or check with Admin! he has the FZ6

same going on with the 6R apparently, but, I'd offer the same question... rider says Yamaha now classes it as sport... but Yamaha used to call it SuperSport, so why are the rates going up when they've lowered the "class" it's in. Truly believe rider just did some teaser rates to get people on...
