Thanks hypo, thats a possibility although it would still be sub 200 so ill wait.
That puig one probably works well but its kinda ugly on this bike. The other one you found looks pretty sweet but probably has little functionality.
Someone needs to make a cheap windshield that looks good AND redirects wind well lol.

Hi,

Read my post about those windscreens, here:

Regarding is size, this windscreen works quite well.
You can push it to 180km/h, with minor wind/air resistence side effects, on your body and helmet. For that, you have to help with your body position, but nothing radical.. (i'm 1,73m height). If i lean the head 2cm forward and down, i dont have wind interference anymore.

I've reached 200km/h, leaned over the gas tank, only with the air turbulence noise... (and i use a modular hemlet (shoei multitec).

On speeds up to 140km/h, It's effective against bad weather.. rain, and wind gusts.

Yesterday i've uninstalled it temporarelly, and try to reach 180km/h.. and it's very, very unconfortable... and dangerous.

The windscreen gives you better stability on the body and bike.

My windscreen it's a Givi A287 model.
My first windscreen was a Barracuda (better looks), but was not very effective, and produced many vibrations and noises.

The Givi is perfect. And the design fits on the fz8 lines.

Regards,

Regards,

Tiago

Thanks Tiago!!

I'm gonna get the smoke, the solid is cool too but I love how it looks in that pic.. plus $160 shipped is a reasonable price and I'd rather not spend anymore than that :p

FZER

Avid Rider
$144 free shipping

Here's the Givi for $144 wt free shipping. I haven't looked at soloparts price for the smoke screen.

Givi A287 windscreen for the Yamaha FZ8 motorcyle - Sport Tour Ltd.

This might be the place to go. Yesterday when I looked at soloparts site the solid black was $160 now it's $180, but I don't know the shipping details. They also say the smoke in unavaible and the price for the smoke is $160 on their site. I ordered today from sporttour, hopefully GIVI has manufactored some and Sport Tour will have one.
