Need help from fellow owners

hi all,

could anyone take off their rear seat and take a look at their frame for me?

the two slots that the passenger seat hook into the frame. only one side of mine has a plastic insert inside the tubing, does yours have one or two?

feel like there is a part missing, just want to see if it's just mine or everyone's.

All these bikes come with just one insert... perhaps someone at Yamaha has decided to remove the second, in order to save money for the MotoGP team
Just buy one and fit it in place, it's available as a regular spare part.

I always wondered how they finance their professional teams.

they should be giving them away since they don't have to pay rossi's salary anymore.

on topic. i'd love to just "buy one" but my local dealership is a haul for such a simple part. if it's not standard issue i can live without until i happen to be going there.
