Bought another bike, no love lost for the FZ8 though!

It was finally time to spend some money to start playing with some supermoto. Got a 09 Kawasaki KLX250sf in black. Super excited for this, but needed to let all my FZ8 brethren know that there will be no decrease in the love of the 8. The fun time on the 8 will barely decrease, and this just...

Just got back from first ride of the year!

Usually not, but if im feeling a strong urge to ride it's not a big deal

where do you store your bike ?

Mine spends quite a bit of time outside and uncovered during the summer, but in the winters it sits in a temperature controlled barn plugged into a battery storage unit.

Strange sound from the front end...

Mine sounds very similar to brake rubbing.

Just got back from first ride of the year!

Im not quite in Buffalo. Further NE near Lake Ontario. Which makes the weather very spastic where it can drop 10 degrees in 15 minutes

Strange sound from the front end...

I've gone over the bike and checked everything out and it seems sound to the best of my knowledge. However when im riding I can hear a faint noise that I can only describe as similar to the instrument that kids make in 3rd grade that is the paper towel tube filled with rice and stuck with...

Just got back from first ride of the year!

Oh boy am I happy to be riding again. Thanks old man winter for staying late this year.... Anyways, I meant to ride earlier because it was almost 50F this afternoon. Ended up tinkering with the bike for a few hours and took a 40 mile spin in the dark at a nice brisk 38F. Got a little chilly with...

    Close Call Thread

I've seen death on a bike. Knew some guys who would do 110 mph wheelies and other foolish stunts. We were in front at a red light, and bikes obviously accelerate faster than cars. A car down the road saw the red light an maybe not even that bikes were there and decided he would pull into the...

Crappy garage pics of my 8 with common mods!

Just got them this winter, havent gotten a chance to use them on the road yet, however from what I can tell, they don't seem to be sufficiently better or worse than the factory mirrors on visibility. Definitely like the look 100% more though.

    Should use better fuel.

For as little gas that the FZ8 takes, I always just put in best rated available, whether that be 93, 95, or 97. A few cents per gallon (or liter for many of our international friends using the decent system) doesn't break the bank on a bike.

Crappy garage pics of my 8 with common mods!

Haha it's my dads barn, Keep my bike there for the winters. 100"x150" ft He loves his toys, I believe he has one of almost every common motorized vehicle except a snow machine. Which is ironic living where a large amount of lake effect snow falls:confused:

GIVI Engine Guard was ordered almost 2 weeks ago, just waiting for it to arrive. Exhaust will come, hard decision on which one though....

Crappy garage pics of my 8 with common mods!

Everybody likes to see what others bikes look like. Unfortunately it is below freezing and there is just too much snow to ride  So here are some garage pics of my 8 as it stands, just waiting to be driven. Pics include: -Rideitmoto CNC Bar end Mirrors -Yamaha Genuine Parts Rear Turn...

    Your honest opinion!!

Personally, I'm not interested, but I think its a great look!

I'd rather have a cage vs sliders.

No it is not, Just like the yamaha and probably all other cages/guards, it attaches to the frame of the bike in the same location. Would be pretty cool to see something that can allow cage and sliders, but the design would probably not be too ascetically pleasing.

Ordered the GIVI. Can't wait to throw it on!

I think I'll probably get the GIVI. Just for personal preference. I like how big it is for some reason. Problem is, they are out of stock everywhere. Will post pics when I do get one though.

I actually found my first torque wrench (clicker type) on the side of the road still in the package. I never stop to see whats sitting on the side of the road usually either. Glad I did for that one.
