Just bought a set of genII Fz1 forks with black cans for 100$$ WOOOTWOOOT

You can just swap the fz1 fork internals and swap out the lower legs if you wanna keep the black tubes. It's a lot more work than the bolt on option that I went with, but it might be worth it.

I thought of that too, there is a place out here that does all fork work about 70$ a side... seems well worth it.

You can take the money you save and have it resprung for your weight. The race tech site says that the stock spring is appropriate for me at 165lb. I used the fz1 and changed the weight of the bike to that of the fz8's.
