Oil consumption

Hi all,

What is the oil consumption on your FZ8s? I have noticed low, but still above MIN oil level after getting to 6000 miles on my Fazer8. I went to the dealer and he said that it would be normal. They checked and had to top up 0.5 l of oil.

Bit surprising for a new motor to take oil.

Has anybody had any oil issue so far ?

just did 2nd oil change @ 4500 and have never had any signs of consumption yet, and i ride it mellow and very hard on a daily basis.

checking the oil level must be done while the bike is vertical. (my wife FREAKED when I changed the oil and she saw the window was blank after I changed the oil.)

did you put a drip pan/cardboard under the bike to see if it leaks?

is there any chance it was too low when you picked it up in the first place?

Well when I picked it up it was too much oil as it was over the maximum, I told dealer and he said that it was ok and because engine was breaking in they put so much oil (bullshit !!!!!) I think that excess of oil had to find itself some way to get out when the pressure had gone high and now it may be going the same way. Again when dealer topped it up level was again over max. I guess that all I ve got left now is to keep checking oil level every day.
