OEM oil filter installation question

Just picked up a Yamaha OEM oil filter and oil to do my first change. Looking at it it only lists a torque spec for installation but I don't have a filter wrench that'll work with my torque wrench. Usually there are also instructions for screwing it on until the gasket touches and then so many turns or parts of a turn. Anyone got any idea? I can probably guesstimate the torque using my strap wrench and calibrated elbow, lol.

I use the k&n because of the 15 mil socket you can use to torque...I usually do hand tight..10-12 pounds I guess?

Yeah 12 ft-lbs it says. I guess I should get the proper filter wrench. That's for the OEM filter. Other filters, depending on the type of gasket it uses may be different.

On til its tight, then barely back it off so on removal its not super tight. Also make sure to oil the o ring before install.
