New exhaust and rear shock this morning.

I picked up my Yoshimura R77D last night and thought I'd put it on this morning.
I've also been following the suspension debate on here. I don't want to open up that can of worms, but I felt the back end was a bit soft for me. I managed to find used shock from an '07 FZ1 for $75 locally, and thought "What the hell, it's worth a shot for $75".
Now the fun part: It's January in Canada, but I still managed to get out for a little test ride! It wasn't too far, and I wasn't able to really give it a good run, but my initial impressions are very good. The rear end seems much better matched to the front now, and doesn't seem to bounce around...it just feels better planted. Well worth the $75. We'll see in the spring, when the roads are clean, and I can really give it a good run, but I think the suspension will be good enough for me. (Keep in mind, I'm an old fart, and while I may ride a bit spirited from time to time, I'm certainly no racer.)
Oh yeah, I love the sound and look of the exhaust...not too loud, but a nice healthy growl.

Love the colour scheme too. About the only thing I haven't done yet is ride a bike in the snow :)

Looks like we might get a decent ride in this weekend if the salt dries up. Calling for 11 and 14 in Peterborough! Then it looks like winter is finally going to hit next week!

I'm thinking I may get out again tomorrow. Are you from the Peterborough are? It's one of my favourite areas to ride. Nice roads and a short ride to get there.:)

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I'm really looking forward to testing this bike out on some clean dry roads.

Looking good Shadowman. If you are also finding the forks soft I see Mission Cycle in Angus does RaceTech. Closest spot for us in Ontario I think.

i was out the same day :) i love the way my yosh sounds :)

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the sound. It's a bit louder than the Leo Vince that I had on my last bike (GSX650F). I hope it doesn't draw any "unwanted attention".
By the way, I love your username.

Thanks. I really think the suspension will be plenty good enough for me. If not, there's a guy not too far away from me. I've never used him, but I know some people who have. They ALL recommend him.

In the Peterborough area, the closest guy I think would be Accelerated Technologies.

edit: oops, just saw that Shadowman already mentioned him. He is definitely THE guy to go to for your suspension.
