Aiming to the 2" @ 25' rule is safest for everyone.

I adjusted them using this rule and basically the light cuts off on the road is about 40 feet out on low beam and high beam lights up perfect. I couldn't believe how off the factory adjustment was even with the stock bulb. I just assumed that it would have been correct from Yamaha.

I appreciate the feedback and suggestions and understand your stance on using HID's but from years of running HID's I know if adjusted correctly there is minimal to no risk to oncoming motorist. Even with stock bulb driving at night was a bit unnerving on this bike. It was a big concern if mine since I ride quite a bit at night.
