Gravel Driveway tip over !!!

Pillion
Parked in some loose gravel while running and the bike vibrated enough to slide a bit and tipped over. Only cosmetic damage is some scratches on the left side of the engine and stator case. Any ideas on how to fix these scratches?
Sand and repaint? Any good matches on engine paint color, (black) They are not very deep but noticeable. Thankfully rest of bike made it out without a scratch. Thanks for any advice.

Can you buy a replacement stator cover? If so, save up and buy it. As for engine scratches, stick a band-aid on it, and by the time it falls of you'll have forgotten about it. If it's not a scratch on the engine it'll be the big stone that smacks your fairing or fender and puts a nice chip in it. I imagine you spend time riding it, rather than looking at the bike, so all I'm saying is to not stress and enjoy riding it and making the bike operate nicely.

The guys on the FZ6 forum (engine is pretty much the same colour as the FZ8) have had pretty good success fixing surface scratches on the stator cover by sanding and then painting with:

Paint: VHT Engine Metallic
Color: SP405, Black Pearl

You can read about it here. Paint: Black Frame/Engine Color Match
