Front stand?

I bought a pair of universal front/rear stands from Cycle Gear. The rear works fine with my spools, but the front seems to be too narrow (it's the kind with one padded bar below the fork, one behind it).

Back in the 2000s, I had a front stand with a "cone" style adapter which slid into the holes in the bottom of the forks. Seemed to work much better.

Any recommendations for a good front stand?

Or help getting my current stand to work?
