Engine Guard with Frame Sliders?

I went to install the engine guard last night and noticed that it mounts to the same point as the frame sliders. Attempting to mount sliders on top of the guard doesn't seem like I'd get enough thread into the mount...

Can this be safely done? Or, is there another location to mount the sliders?

are the sliders,guard ,Yamaha products? according to Yamaha you can only use one or the other. Ive got the Yamaha sliders and they came w/longer bolts. looking at the picture of the guard I don't see why you couldn't lose the slider brackets and get longer bolts and mount just the sliders ,worth a try ?

The guard is from Yamaha -- The sliders are not. Just like what you said, the sliders came with longer threaded bolts. (The bolts are the same length, but the sliders has more thread than stock). I was thinking about getting longer bolts -- but my fear became it might cause uneven pressure as the sliders wont fit nicely inside the lip of the guard mount.

I will have to get creative I guess.

Has anyone managed to mount sliders in other spots on their bikes?
