Electrical issue - rear tail light

Popped a tail/brake globe on the 2010 FZ8N so replaced it with the standard 21W/5W quality globe last weekend.

Only electrical mod being LED blinkers front and back.

It overheated and partly melted the rear reflector lens.

I've checked wiring for brakes/damage, also run a seperate earth back to the battery for tail light just in case. The globe is extremely hot(2 different brands tested). The brake element is not jammed on so it's just the 5W tail lamp.

I've checked and adjusted brake switches just in case all appears fine.

I've read about the LED blinker relays but can't see a power problem being shown in a tail light?

At this stage I'm about F'd to work it out. Advice most welcome.

poor resistance on that specific bulb. reads the resistance between the pos/neg to the break light. Probably a pinched or frayed ground.

My thoughts but I've post the issue run a separate earth from globe socket to battery just in case. It's still hot for mine very hot. I've order a replacement wiring sub assembly so hopefully that fixes it.

Just to clarify if i could, the change to LED indicators front and back does NOT impact tail light here?

cheers
