Got bored one day and didn't wanna pay $80 for a tail tidy so I made one with some left over scrap metal in my garage. It uses the stock turn signals, has license plate screw leds, and flips up for um certain times where it'd be beneficial. Hah.
Tools used... dremel, c-clamps, chisel, sledgehammer, drill. I didn't have a table vice clamp which would've made the bends easier so I etched the folds with a dremel, used a chisel/hammer to start the bends and finished with a c-clamp. With a little forethought, I wouldn't have needed a welder but ultimately it came out fine. Btw, cutting sheet metal w a dremel is a PITA!!!
Painted w rustoleum self etching primer, rusto semi gloss black, and semi gloss top coat. Used a toaster oven to bake the paint for 6 hrs.
Main piece.
Coming home from the body shop who welded the bracket.
The wingnut apparently disappeared...
Final product
"you gotta be a lil crazy to stay sane..."
