Just an FYI - see link for the acerbis type I bought as the modification to the motocross ones was outta my league for mods and the equipment I have at home. Not sure what I ended up paying or where from but they bolt straight on like bar end sliders.

I am looking to do the same thing but curious how it does affect higher speeds and revs on the highway. Is it that much higher e.g. 1k to 2k higher at 70mph for example?
If I remember I will take a pic tonight as I fitted a Shad about 3 weeks ago (also 2013 with matte grey, and black shad with blue stitching). I think it looks good and close as one would get.
My temp is ok and hardly ever goes above 190 unless really hot day and I stop at lights etc. Fan kicks in appropriately aft about 214 (I think). For me it is only on warmer days (75+) when the frame has time to warm up that I can start feeling the heat radiating upwards. I may try engine ice...
Also see "thread a few weeks back "New Owner from WI, USA. Few ?'s", this is something that quite a few of us encounter once the frame starts heating up and tries to serve roasted thigh for lunch.............................

How well did you think the Givi worked in pushing the airflow over your helmet as opposed to up at it?
I totally agree with the heat problem qnbee and have had the same issue after getting my 2013 FZ8. Having taken it to the the dealer while the yamaha rep was onsite I was basically given the response that bikes get hot. The whole venting seems to not be great to pull the heat through the motor...
