    R1 questions for recent/current owners

I owned and rode an 04 and 09 R1. Never had a problem with either one of them. In fact, I sold my 04 R1 with just over 50,000 miles on it.

    Heated grips

I've done the same but just remember, snowmobile gloves won't protect you much if you crash.

    |Winter time

Malarkey! Get a motorcycle that you can stud the tires and do this! ICE RACING 1 Jared Mees, Scott Parker, Brian Smith, Mark Cheza etc....avi - YouTube More fun than a "Wheel Chair" (AKA: Quad) or snowmobile!

    Rain Gear

Yikes, I'm not thinking this is going to fit under the passenger seat. It folds fairly small but I keep mine in my backpack. You're lucky to get an insurance card in that space back there! :p

Summertime gear: what do you use?

I wear my same Alpinestars leather year round and just deal with the heat. Then again Wisconsin isn't the same type of "warm" climate all the time.

    Hope she will be OK

No Superman needed. Just a ramp (which could be wood) and 4 tie downs. Simple.

    Hope she will be OK

How about tie it down in the bed of your truck? Then you can still go out with your truck too.

I had to laugh! This is what i found when i got home this arvo.

Bummer. Gives you all the more reason to take all the fence down for a "more open" feel to your yard. Never was a fan of fenced in yards (unless you have a dog or something).

    Winter is coming

Wrong. See note 5 under their "Uses in All Fuels" on their webpage: Sea Foam | Tech Info - Gas Engines It stabalizes fuel for 2 years. In additioin it does far more than other fuel additives.

    Winter is coming

Yeah, I've seen how much hotter climates suck. People run from an air conditioned car right into their air conditioned houses while it's one beautiful day after the next in the Upper Midwest. You can have that stuff. Besides, I transition from motorcycle to snowmobile in the winter. Gives...

    Winter is coming

Not a good idea. You're better off putting fuel conditioner (Sea Foam) in a full tank of gas when storing it. These gas tanks are metal. If you don't have a full tank of gas you could get rust on the insides of it as condensation can collect inside. Just my $.02.

    Winter is coming

    1) Battery Tender 2) Sea-foam mixed into a full tank of gas (also make sure the Sea-foam is also ran into the fuel lines, etc). 3) Ideally get both wheels off of the ground to prevent flat spots. If you can't do that, move the bike a little every couple months. 4) Fresh oil change. That's...

    Sprocket upgrade

Maybe a dumb question but can you do this with the same amount of chain links as stock?

#1 thing you'd tell Yama to improve on the FZ8

    1) Like everyone else, suspension. 2) Don't integrate the exhaust hanger with the passenger pegs. 3) Bigger gas tank. 4) Better high beam vision. I saw brake lines on here a few times. Keep in mind the R6 & R1 come with non stainless lines from the factory too.
