Hi, I’m new here and just hoping to get some help.
So this is what I bought: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-F...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
It came with Baffle, slip on, mounting bracket, link pipe, clamp, springs.
Old exhaust is off. There was a gasket where it came off. I had to remove that as the new link pipe was snug to the downpipe. I clamped that down.
Slip on is a loose fit over the link pipe and held on by the springs. The mounting bracket attaches the same way the stock one does. It didn’t come with a nut though so I had to prize the old one out of its housing to reuse it. It’s a really strange assembly with two rubber bungs around a metal tube for the bolt to go through. I‘ve tightened it up as much as I possibly dare (without a torque wrench) but there’s a lot of movement from it.
So my problem is that the exhaust is not secure enough (you can wiggle it at least an inch left and right) and I don’t know how to fix it. Should I have a gasket to make it more snug where the slip on fits onto the link pipe? Is there supposed to be a spacer or something where it mounts to the frame?
I can’t find any instructions online for it, or any videos etc. If anyone on here could help it would be much appreciated.
