Lifting Bike without stands for tire change :)

so my buddys R6 tires were down to the wire, and we were quoted $470 to drive the bike to the Motorcycle shop for new tires. After looking around for a bit we found the Motorcyclesuperstore.com had great prices on tires, and they will ship to a local dealer for free. the dealer charges $160 for install and balance with tires on bike, or $80 if you just bring tires in off the bike. We didnt want to drop money on front and back stand so we got to thinking...

we used 3 rachet straps 1 in the front 2 in the back, hanging from my garage. Just make sure your garage can handle the load i hooked them to 2 4x6 beams. we werent getting the tires back for a few days to i put 2 jackstands underthe bike to take some weight off.

Btw we got the tires for $240 then install was about $100 after taxes and fees. so was well worth the savings!

That's a good way to save some $, looks a little odd almost like some sort of swing. But kudos for the idea.

That's how I lifted the rear to change my shock.
