I can confirm, my 2013 (Canadian) is exactly like that. Beware, the sticker seems to be under the clear coat.

I too can confirm in my US issued 2013 fz8. First thing I did when I got her home was break out the hairdryer, a plastic scraper, and the goo gone. Wasn't too hard, and it looks extremely clean now.

Yeah it does feel clear coated . I think I might be out of luck unless I actually get the tank painted which I would prefer not too. I was going gold everything and would like to get rid of the red
