    Clubman handlebar and stock mirrors

I haven't installed those bars on my bike (although I do have aftermarket Rizoma bars) but I can tell you that your mirrors will indeed fit as long as the bars are 7/8" diameter which they appear to be. The mirrors attach to the bars via a circular clamp so as long as the handle bars you're...

    thinking about selling.

I'm also trying to sell my bike in the Southern California area. I have some similar mods as well. My bike has 9,850 miles, Pazzo Racing shorty levers, Rizoma mirrors, Rizoma handlebars, Two Bros. Black Series carbon fiber exhaust, Evotech TailTidy, and some lower profile aftermarket turn...

Fz8 Azusa canyon ride gopro first edition

So can doing a lot of things. If there's no oncoming traffic, what's the big deal? I cross over double yellows all the time while canyon riding in SoCal. Bikes are capable of a lot of things that would normally get you in trouble/injured/killed in a normal vehicle. Back to the topic, I've never...

    Handlebars?

Yea, the Rizoma bars I got did not have dampers. However, I think the thickness of the bar makes up for it because I definitely didn't notice much vibration. Rizoma really makes some quality stuff. I also have Rizoma mirrors and they're awesome as well. Look good, quality craftsmanship, and zero...

    Handlebars?

I think they were approximately $75 but I can't remember exactly. I got them quite a while back. I noticed a very, very small difference but not much. I did notice that the Rizoma bars seemed to have a slightly beefier wall thickness so I'm assuming that's the cause for the reduced vibration...

    Handlebars?

I got a set of black bars from Rizoma and I love them! They're identical to the stock bars in width, shape, and length. I just couldn't stand that the bars were the only thing grey/silver on the entire bike so I decided to change it. Install wasn't too bad, took about an hour or so. Just note...

New respect for this 2012 FZ8!

Glad to hear you're having an easier time on this bike. Like you, the FZ8 was my first street bike (although I've been riding dirt since I was a tot and every now and then take my Dads Softail out for a putt) so I think you made the right choice. Just take it a tad slow at first until you get...

    tail bags etc

I really like my Kriega bag. It looks neat and is super high-quality. They make a variety of sizes and styles. I personally have the US-10 which is their smallest bag and it easily fits a pair of shoes, a change or two of clothes, a toiletries bag, and a bottle of water.

    FZ-8 Top Speed?

From my experience, the speedo is off by approximately 8-10% so you're probably doing closer to 150ish. That seems feasible, though, because I've definitely hit about 138-140 mph on mine and all it has performance wise is a slip-on exhaust.

Just ordered a Kriega US-20. Anyone else using one?

I have a US-10 and absolutely love it! It's extremely well made. Installation is easy as is taking the bag on and off. They have these small adapters that have a female clip on both ends so you can leave the straps on the bike all the time regardless of whether or not the bag is installed.

    Racing509 - Frame Slider Alternatives

The main issue is that stunting cages are good for stunting and not much else. Generally, they're bulky and obtrusive and restrict the lean angles that most casual riders, especially canyon riders, are accustomed to. My company is currently working on protection for these bikes that's...

    fz8 Wheelies...

Clutch wheelies scare the shit out of me, personally. It'll probably be quite a while until I try one of those on the street. I am, however, somewhat comfortable with power wheelies. Any tips people could offer would be much appreciated though!

what helmet are you wearing? why? PRO's/CON's?

My local dealership had a whole slew of Bells I tried on before eventually choosing the Shoei RF-1100. Not like that helps you much, though. IMO, the Shoei was definitely more comfortable than the Bell. The Shoei seemed just as snug overall but the inside padding didn't squish my face the way...

    newb from Utah

Hey Dana! You're definitely going to love this bike! There are a few things that may bother you a tad as is with any bike, although they can be easily remedied with various accessories. Personally, I'm about 200lbs myself and this bike moves pretty good, especially in the canyons through the...

    Got the Autotune installed

Damn! Looks like one hell of an install. As Spunky said, those welds do look pretty damn good though. Keep us posted on how the autotuning goes, the PCV is one upgrade I've been waiting for and I'm excited to hear how it works =D

    Grips

Right on! $22 is a good deal for that bracket and it appears to be of decent quality, powder coated steel and all. I'll probably be picking that bracket up along with the tail light/turn signal combo and remove the tail tidy altogether. I appreciate the info!

    Grips

DJ, On the second to last photo you just posted, I can't help but notice that badass license plate bracket you have down near the rear wheel. Is that something you made yourself or a kit you bought? I really, really dislike the rear end of our FZ8s, although a tail tidy helped clean it up a...

    Seats?

I just may do that. Could be a fun little trip and I could take PCH most of the way there. I have quite a bit on my plate the next week or two but I'll keep you guys posted.
