Headstock stand - what size pin?

I guess nobody did. I'll resurrect this to ask the same question. What size is the internal diameter of the headstock? The biggest pin that came with my stand is 18mm, but the headstock is way bigger than that, 23 or 24 mm. Or maybe 22. OK, I found that a 16 mm Craftsman socket fit pretty...

These tires are made for riding.

T30 EVO is supposed to be basically the same as the T30, maybe a little less harder wearing in the heat, but improved with silica for good wet grip. I can't really comment on the wet grip, as I don't like riding in the rain if it can be avoided. Wet roads can be really grippy. They can also...

These tires are made for riding.

I'm running my second Bridgestone T30 rear (wanted a T30 EVO but it was too late in the year to have much selection from the wholesalers) and a T30 EVO front. I find them to stick and handle really nicely, and the dual-compound rears really last quite well and don't square off so much.

    Shad seat color?

Yeah, those are the guys I got mine from last year, too. Note that there are various listing oriented towards various different countries, with somewhat different prices. Anyway, much cheaper than through Yamaha (at least what Yamaha Canada wanted for it), and cheaper than the price through the...

    Shad seat color?

I have a 2013 Fazer 8 in Yamaha "Optic Blue" colour scheme - flat grey and DPBM15 stripes, wheels, etc (deep purplish blue metallic #15, that's what Yamaha calls it). The stitching on my Shad seat is not exactly the same, but certainly close enough to look like it goes with the bike.

    FZ8 Replacement seat

I have a Shad seat. I wish it was a little taller, especially at the front. It still has much the same issue as the stock saddle - it slopes to the front making it difficult if not impossible to stay back on the wider part of the seat. Might be less of a problem on an FZ-8, rather than a...

Welcome! Nice pics, too. I think you're probably our first member from Pakistan.

    Heat?

Took the big-ass windshield off my bike on Saturday before I headed out for a ride. Definitely seemed to make a difference in the perceived temperatures. As I say, I suspect the large windscreen was creating a larger pocket of low pressure behind it, drawing even more of the hot air from the...

Cruiser as second bike, what would you choose and why

Of the current crop of cruisers, I'd say that one would be on my list. Not too big, or too heavy, decent power, looks good. How about a Ducati Diavel-X? That's technically a cruiser, right?

    Heat?

Engine temperatures appear to be OK. I noticed the heat radiating up from, I'm guessing, the catalytic converter to my right foot/ankle the first day I had it. Yeah, the frame and even the gas tank get really warm after a while. I'm pretty sure my big windshield has also affected the airflow...

    Heat?

I do find I'm more comfortable riding with my textile riding pants on over jeans, even when it's pretty warm out. I guess I the insulation from the heat of the frame and engine beats out the cooling I get from riding in jeans. That only works if I stick my knees out in the air. Yeah, I got...

    Heat?

Anyone else find this bike really hot to ride when the weather is at all warm, like above 25C (~78F)? I'm sure it's worse with the Fazer, with the wind protection, and especially mine with the big Givi windscreen I have put on it. OTOH, the heat problem is mostly inside the legs and...

What do you plan to own next?

Bagman, we should get together some time. I've just ordered the big Givi screen to put on my bike. For some reason I didn't think it was available in Canada so I ordered it from Italy on eBay, but I now see that it's available on Importations Thibault's catalog, at CDN$170, which is cheaper...

What do you plan to own next?

I had an '02 DL1000 V-Strom before I got my Fazer. The new ones are no faster. The good part was that there was pretty much always sufficient thrust available at any reasonable engine speed from 4000 rpm up, whereas the FZ8/Fazer has a flattish spot from 5000-6000 rpm, and is not as strong in...

MRA Windscreen - CLEARLY a deal!

I don't know, I'd say TT is clearing them out, probably because the FZ8/Fazer 8 is no longer being sold here (is it?). If you want it order now, there's only one left, apparently.

    Rear wheel caliper position

BTW, it is essentially not possible to overtighten the axle nut if all the spacers are in there. I mean, sure you you go so crazy in tightening that you strip or damage things, but the factory torque spec for that fastener, IIRC, is something like 100 ft-lbs, which is very tight. I second what...

    NOT THIS QUESTION AGAIN!!!!!

I picked up an '13 Fazer 8 last year to replace my '02 V-Strom which was getting long in the tooth. I find it a pretty comfy bike, for what it is, which is to say quite a bit sportier than my old V-Strom,with quite a bit less leg room. Seat doesn't work great for me though. I got a Shad seat...

Helmet Reviews: Post your "LID" and how you like it.

I recently bought a new helmet, as my Arai Profile GT was starting to have failures of various little bits (vents, etc) and was getting a little sloppy on my head, as well as being 5 or more years old and well-used. So, to start with, I have what Arai calls a "Long Oval" (LO) shaped head. Old...

What did you do to your bike today?

Nice. Yes, I 'm sure it's not too complicated for someone who is handy with wiring, swapping out cable ends, etc. i.e. not me, lol. Your work looks good, btw. The stock lighting even on the Fazer is not really the best. I still contend that one low beam and one high beam, even with...
