Not saying you're wrong but anyone have any dyno numbers to back this up? From what I understand SAE hp measurements changed around 06-07 to a new system making older hp ratings overstated. This I'm sure applied to new cars and SUVs but i'm not sure if the applied it to motorcycles as well.

I used a tire paint pen that you can buy at auto stores. They sell them online for much cheaper ~$8-10 bucks. You can find Chinese shippers that will sell them for .99 each but you would probably have to wait 3 weeks.

yea yamahas engine guard is designed like this one where the end comes out straight like a slider. The givi is also aluminum but since the shape is round from where it bolts onto the engine i can only imagin the point of impact would be somewhere in the middle of the tubing

its safe to do it if you do it the right way.. just make sure that you put a little bit of pressure on the shifter..its called preloading, then make sure you release the throttle completely and the gear should slip right in.
