    Purchasing a service manual

Yes, you can print to PDF. I did that so I would have a backup copy. Just a note I had a problem with my computer and had to reinstall Techspark, but I had lost my key. I contacted customer service and they sent me a new key without any hassles

    Purchasing a service manual

I bought mine from Techspark Studios (Yamaha FZ8). It was $15 well spent. I purchased the Windows version and it works well.

    Tail Bags

I use a Nelson Riggs CL 1060 tail bag. It is low profile and blends in with the shape of the FZ8. I didn't need a huge tail bag, I just wanted something to carry things like my GPS and phone. It is big enough to fit a par of shoes and light jacket.

    ASV shorty levers

If you are looking to reduce hand fatigue a shorter lever is not the way to do it. The shorter lever produces less torque. Torque = force x distance to the pivot. So if your lever is half the size you need to apply twice the force to get the same torque. I installed shorty levers on my bike...

    Bike Stand

I have a Pitbull forward pull rear stand. It is easy to use when you are working alone and the handle is out of the way. I ended up putting on a center stand after finding a used one at a great price. That also works really well.

    Which FZ for a noob?

I agree with this 100%. Personally I think that you should start on a 250 or a 500 (although the 250 is a better choice). You can pick one up cheap and sell it for little to no loss If you drop it it is not ridiculously expensive to fix. Since they are light they are easier to control at...

Levers, markers, fender eliminator, bike stand, manual and exhaust

Levers: JPR (YAMAHA ADJUSTABLE SHORTY LEVER SET). Less expensive than ASV or Pazzo and made in the US. They were a direct install that look about 15 minutes. Fender eliminator: Evotech fender eliminator (Yamaha FZ8N Tail Tidy | Motorcycle Parts | Buy Yamaha Spares). I bought mine on on...

Yosh - stainless or carbon???? R77

I love the look of carbon and would have liked to keep it black but I went with stainless after hearing a lot of stories of carbon yellowing. If I ever rebuild the can I will probably have it powder coated flat black.

SW Motech Blaze Bags and Slip-On Exhaust Possible?

This is slightly off topic, but do the Blaze bags sit far enough apart to clear your tail lights? I have Nelson Riggs bags and with the fender eliminator in place the bags squeeze the lights. Since they are on rubber mounts it has not been much of a problem. I have always like the security of...

    Naked bike specific helmet reviews..

Having to remove foam to allow the visor to fit makes sense. I wonder if that is why the EXO-1000 is so heavy. Unless I was going on a track where SNELL is required I am ok with it not being SNELL rated, but I do like having the ECE or other third party to certify the design.

    Naked bike specific helmet reviews..

I tired on a GT-Air and I really liked it. The only thing that bothered me is that it is only DOT rated, not SNELL or ECE rated. So if you are planning on goign to a track the GT-Air would not be a good choice. No one seems to offer a SNELL certified helmet with an integral visor (I really...

    Educate me on levers please

I bought levers from JPR (Welcome to JPR Performance, manufacturer of motorcycle accessories made with the high quality that riders demand, and prices to suit their budgets.). Cheaper than ASR or Pazzo and made in the US ($130 for the set). They were easy to install and work great so far.

    Lowering font end

This might be a dumb question but can this be done without removing the wheel? Would that help keep things aligned? You could use a level on the rim of the wheel to check if it is tipped.

    Rusted Chain...

I agree that it looks like surface rust. I would try to just wipe it down with a good cleaner then follow it with chain lubricant. I use a plastic brush to clean my chain because I am afraid of a wire brush damaging an o-ring. It might be unfounded but using a plastic brush can't hurt. A...

    Anyone use Kevlar Jeans?

I am with MotoRick on this one. I have a pair of Diamond Gusset Defender motorcycle jeans and a regular pair. Nice fit, good quality, reasonably priced and made in the USA. I think that they are hard to beat.

    Sena Bluetooth On Sale

I bought my Sena SMH10R in July for the same price. It looks like Revzilla posted MSRP prices to make it look like they are offering a special deal, but they really did not drop the price. In any case I found it that Revzilla has great customer service and my Sena has been awesome.

    New levers for my Eight

Here is what they look like on mine. The gold anodizing is not a perfect match but that is expected when buying aftermarket like this and I like them.
