I just went to the local parts store and bought a light socket that holds a 194 bulb, it's for gm or something. Cut out the hole and stuck that sucker in there and tapped to the running light circuit.

Drill and tap the ends? They are hollow already, it just looks like a larger diameter inside. Or did you mean make that larger and yank the factory bar end inserts from the old bars?

Oh no I'm not using bar end mirrors, I have the Tomok style ones that screw into where the stock ones are located. I was just referring to the actual bar end caps / sliders.

I've done less than 4800 miles, this is my rear tire after doing one "Taste of Racing" session at P.I.R.

HIGHNITRO - if you have a 13' FZ8 than the gloss black would look fine on it. It shouldn't be matte gray anymore right?

Also wondering the same. I'm thinking I'll end up getting the gloss black one and just painting it myself. I really doubt yamaha will make a matte gray one at this point.

2 things I thought were important to buy with Yamaha's name on them, frame sliders and rear spools. I don't make revving noises but I have been known to sit on my bike on the stand. :D

I have the 2012 with matte paint. Has anyone else wondered why the rear fender is gloss black? Nothing else on the bike matches it. I have since painted mine satin black to kinda blend in with some leftover gold pinstripes from my wheels.
