    Loss of Power - Sputtering

You don't need to pull the radiator, but you do need to drop it by removing the one or two bolts that hold it up. To remove the coil packs, disconnect the harness and twist and pull the pack out.

    Possibly dumb question

I've fine the grip heater mood. Very painful, but worth every second.

    Loss of Power - Sputtering

ok, so check out this video: YAMAHA R6 SPARK PLUG COIL TEST: HOW-TO - YouTube it has how to do it, although this isn't me, this guy must be a gangster... all in all, just look for the "one that is different". For me, most secondary resistance readings were really close, but one was out about...

odd issue the other day.. please provide thoughts

YES!!!!! Same thing happened to me. I burned out a coil pack for one of the spark plugs - see my post for "Loss of Power, sputtering...." You can check them by looking at the primary and secondary resistance of each coil pack with a multi-meter. I can provide additional instruction, but...

Did you test your coil packs? I can give directions if needed. All you need is a multi-meter.

    Loss of Power - Sputtering

Ok... definitely a bike problem... spent the whole day removing the dang airbox, checking the AIS, and throttle system. Still not sure... banking on the coil pack being bad.

    Loss of Power - Sputtering

Ok, so the other day when I went to ride to work, I noticed that when I got on the gas a little, the bike bogged way down and started sputtering. When I gave it a little throttle it was fine, but when I gave about 25% or more, it did the same thing. Thought it was just cold, but it did it the...

    BMW S1000R

Yes, you read it right, S1000R and not RR. BMW made a streetfighter based on the HP4 motor and on paper looks quite good. I plan on getting one soon. They advertise 160 BHP and from the youtubes, looks accurate. Anyone get anything similar?

    Front Sprocket Mod

Yamaha FZ8 Accessories, Yamaha FZ8 GYTR® Front Sprockets Are you sure? I think for some years that is true, but I don't think 2012 model is that one. Let me know if I'm wrong, i'm sure someone will.

    Front Sprocket Mod

OK!!! couple of things you need to know. the first is what sprocket you need for your front sprocket. I consulted the Yamaha motors web site and found that for my 2012 fz8 I needed a 520 15t front sprocket for a -1 mod. so I bought it from amazon using the oem part number. once I got it, I...

Spark Plug Replacement - got 2 hours?

ok, so here is the verdict. The spark plugs DEFINITELY made an improvement in overall performance and throttle response. Once the Auto-tune remapped, I couldn't believe it. For less than 80$ (and if you have a pc5 w auto tune) this is a great mod. My -1 front sprocket will be here shortly...

Spark Plug Replacement - got 2 hours?

Let me just say from the get go that I'm not a professional mechanic, however, I do have a buddy who is pretty serious into his bike and he recommended BRISK AZ10RS (CR9E equivalent) spark plugs. At 17$/plug x 4, I wasn't really sold on the idea, but hey, it's only money right? As soon as the...
