After much discussion, I swapped it for a Motobatt one plus cash.
Bike's going good now.
It was slightly less than 3 years old and I ride almost everyday.
I was told the Yuasa site listed the wrong one for the FZ8.
It took a lot of convincing that I was right and the site was wrong. I was...
I was given a YT12B-BS battery by my Yamaha dealer.
The web says it should be a YTZ10S.
I can't find any reference to the dealer one for our bikes?
I haven't had a chance to put it in yet and thought I would ask before I do.
If it fits should I just go ahead and do it?
Thanks.
I've been away on the bike for a long weekend...
Anyway, I have the Tail bag 20L and the Backpack 35L.
Both excellent and yes I would buy both again in a heartbeat.
The 35L pack has a height restriction (back length). It's no good bent over on my Ducati, but I use it all the time on my FZ8n...
2003 Honda VTR250 (ran off the road)
2003 Ducati Supersport 1000ds
2006 Moto Guzzi Breva 750
2010 Yamaha FZ8n
I've only been riding for 3 years (and 70,000kms), still have the other 3 bikes.
My favourite is the Guzzi. I've toured on all 3 but that is my favourite for some reason.
Hoped that the...
I already have 2 bikes (Italian) so didn't need another one. I liked the idea of a Street Triple R but I thought it looked a little unfinished... Anyway I used to go into the Yamaha dealership for oils etc and saw the Dealers own white FZ8n with all the extras. WOW I was blown away.
After...
The coming storm is big news even here in New Zealand. We're thinking of all you guys that will be affected and have our fingers' crossed for you and your families (and your bikes). Both mine fell down in the Christchurch February earthquake. Funny, it wasn't as heartbreaking as I thought it...
When touring with limited petrol station availability, it becomes extremely important how many kms to a tank I can get. I don't want to be stuck in the mountains with an empty tank. Nor do I want to fill up 5 times if I can get away with 4. Yesterday I filled up in a mountain pass store with one...
Set your trip meter when you fill up.
Then next time you get petrol note how many kms or gallons you put in.
You'll have an accurate amount then. Keep doing this for fast and slow rides etc and eventually you'll get a feel for the amount YOU can get. Use the search button here. People have...
I've completely forgotten the side stand (on this bike) as well. Full tank of petrol and all I could do was hold it up at a severe angle and yell for help from my partner. Until then I had always wondered how people forget things like that!
Hi and congrats on the bike!
I lived in Perth for 2 years back in 1993-1995
Loved the place.
Back in Kiwiland now but still miss the place, the people and the weather.
+1
When I got my first bike, my partner thought she was missing out and went out and got herself a new Triumph Bonneville se!
We now tour together and have lots of fun.
With the right woman, this is possible.
Stand up to this woman, tell her you're keeping the bike and see what happens...
Sorry mate to hear of the crash.
I commute to work and have these type of near misses most days.
A mad driver got me a couple of years ago but I walked away with the last pinky bone shoved up into my palm - lucky (though I didn't think so at the time).
