Yeah as of today, I'm thinking Rizoma mirrors and led signals, a fender eliminator and maybe power commander, I will see how a silp on does, I like a smooth linear power band and maybe some other minor things, it really doesn't need much.

Congrats on the new purchase! Yes I'm familiar with McHenry, my parents have a place on the Chain so I go up that way in the summer. I'm about 40 minutes south of you. I've managed to add a bunch of stuff this winter to the FZ8 including: frame sliders, tank pad, center stand, radiator guard, motodynamic integrated tail light, led front signals, shorty gold front levers, new mirrors and a Coffman exhaust. I really love the look of the bike now. It has definitely become my addiction for the winter since I can't ride it. Pretty satisfied with everything I've put onto the bike although I'm waiting for a new bolt from China for the mirrors. That's been my only bad experience with parts so far. The reverse thread bolt included with the mirrors wouldn't thread properly.

Saw your post mentioning meeting riders in the area...depending on where you actually are in Chicago I'm probably 2 hours west. Grew up in the suburbs though. Love the FZ8 so far! Just got a 2011 that had 300 miles on it in September so I was only able to get about 800 miles on the bike before the end of the season. Have you done any mods to yours yet?
