Looks awesome. I have the stock rad guard as well and had been thinking some paint would improve the look; you've confirmed, thanks for posting.

The forks could have had a defect that caused the seal to wear. I've heard that inspecting the forks is recommended when replacing seals; ensure the surface is clean/smooth. After 2 weeks Yamaha likely thought there was something that caused premature failure.

I have them on order for my bike; looking forward to their arrival (any day now). Getting them from the dealer matched to the bike - blue color. I was considering adding some clear protective tape to the leading edge for rocks, etc. Do you think that will help?

Glad you're okay. It's one thing to cause the accident, another to leave the scene! I would have consideration for the person that made sure I was okay and applogizing for making a poor turn, but hit 'n' run...

I used a plastic razor blade that I sourced from Lee Valley. With some WD40 the sticker came off clean.

The Canadian version doesn't have these straps under the seat. I read in an online owners manual that the bike had them, however when I got mine there were none on the bike and no reference in the printed owners manual (that came with the bike).
