Yeah - that is my understanding. The switch is basically switching power between the low & high beam of the FZ8, but on the Fazer it is only hot in the high beam position (no connection to low beam) but the wiring is the same. So, there would be no more load by doing the mod the "simple" way...

Yeah - it is a good looking light. I like how it uses the full lens. Much more visible. And I like the sequential turn signals. I wish mine hadn't failed. Oh well.

I had the Motodynamic but it failed a few days ago. Only a little over a year old and only about 2500 kms on the bike with it installed. Too bad - I really liked it. I have a Blaster-X on the way now - should be here in the next day or two.

The install takes 30 mins or less. A few screws & 8 of those snap clip things on my 2011. I did contact Motodynamic, and they did offer to do a warranty fix even though the warranty is expired. I'd have to pay shipping to get it to them though, which isn't exactly cheap being on the...

Here's a pic of the failed LEDs. I'm sure there was a 9th one in the middle on the bottom right yesterday, but maybe I was imagining that. I've sent it to Motodynamic. Not sure if they'll be able to do much since it is 2 years old, but we'll see.

The install isn't as painful as it sounds. I don't think it is a connection issue - over half of the red LEDs are working fine. The rest are dead. I'm thinking something failed internally - probably a bad connection or a bad trace on the board - maybe a board crack. Just curious if anyone...

It does sound rather convoluted. :) But, as I say, I've seen dozens of dead stock bikes up here with dual low beams & quad lamp systems. I may ask some cop friends on the weekend if I think of it. Can't imagine it'll ever be a problem.
