    520 mile ride

This weekend I joined 31 other bikes on a two day ride. All of them but one were on Harley"s. We rode up to the centeral coast of CA. Two of the Harley guys were awsome riders and could put up a good fight. All in all the pace was too much and they would fall farther and farther behind. I have...

    YOUR issues with the suspension?

This is only my opinion and you all know what they say about opinions. They are like arm pits, everyone has one and everyone thinks yours stinks. I weigh in at 220 lbs. and ride 80% canyons with a lot of elevation changes. I found that the front end would dive hard while braking into a downhill...

    Are mirrors really necessary?

I ride the Crest quite regularly and I have been ticketed for having my license plate too far forward. Up there they will pull you over for anything. They just want to discourage you from having any fun. So for me whenever I change my bike I always check to see if it will be legal first. In Cali...

dannyviking02 do you ever get to Canyon Country

Get a group of local FZ8 riders (L.A. area). I live at Solidad Canyon and Sand Canyon. It would be cool to get some of the local FZ8 riders together and hit the canyons up here. I have some great ridding here in my back yard. If you or any locals are interested post a reply.

    Veteran Riders--FZ-8...How good is it?

25 years on the street + 6 before that in the dirt. My 1st street bike was RZ350. Since then I have had a FZ600, Ninja 600, Buell, CB1, GSXR 750, Z1000, R1 (+ a few odds bikes here and there) and now a FZ8. I am 46 years old and have ridden around 200,000 miles. You are not going to get the...

Going to a 190 rear tire?

Scraping issues are fixed I have since upgraded my suspension with .95kg springs, upgraded valve and a Penske 8900E shock. I will stick with the stock size tire, but may use a softer compond. It is kinda nice to get more that 2,000 miles out of a set of tires.

    Fuel Type

With much respect, you guys got me wrong When I say cheap gas I am comparing the ethonal content between Cheveron with say Arco or Maverick. Not the ethonal content per octain rating at each gas station that is a seporate issue. If you spend .5 cents less on gas that uses more ethonal that gas...

    Fuel Type

Cali crapy gas Cheap gas is not cheap, the cheaper the gas the more ethanol is use instead of gasoline. Ethanol does not contain as much energy as gasoline, BTU British Thermal Units. Sine fuel that is cheaper is less efficient you will get less miles per gallon. Since you are getting les miles...

    New 8900E Penske shock

It cost me $610.00 including shipping, but I am in the US. I don't know what shipping would be out of the country. It took five weeks to get it because they hand build each one with a spring to match your weight. You can search Penske 8900E and you will find several retailers. You can upgrade to...

    New 8900E Penske shock

Tried it out I took the bike out on Sunday to try out the new shock. It works very well with the fork upgrades I have done. All of the marshmellow feel is gone, but it is not so stiff that it is uncomfertable. I will need to play with the dampening adjustment to find the exact sweet spot. So I...
