    Marthy's new ride

OK, now it's time for a drag race between the FZ8 and the FZ-09. :D  :p Congrats man. That is a sweet bike. More pictures and videos required! (on all the forums)

    so this happened...

I haven't heard of anything like this on the FZ1. Very strange.

Fz8 Azusa canyon ride gopro first edition

Nice video. Was that 3rd gear most of the ride? I'm not familiar with the revs of the FZ8. I'd recomend the Twist of the Wrist II book and video. (most or all of which can be watched on YouTube). The video is a bit cheezy, but the information is solid. Sadly, IL has no mountains. All of...

    OEM parts where to buy?

I like partshark.com for OEM parts. They are not the fastest to get it to you, but their prices seem more reasonable. :2cents:

    FZ-09 MT DM-850 Concept

I also like the yellow one. My wife would like the white one (maybe the black). I was looking at a BMW F800GT for a 'sport touring' bike she could handle. If the range is good enough and the seat is low enough, that could be a bike for her. I'm sure it isn't quite as high tech as the BMW...

    50 miles on the 2013

Kenny Roberts Black and Yellow is ALWAYS a good choice for a Yamaha! Tank idea I found searching on Google...

    FOR SALE 2006 FZ1 FORKS

Those weren't 2006 forks from a US FZ1. They were all gold. Maybe they were from a different country or they were 2009 as that is the first year black forks were on the FZ1 in the USA. Oh well, they are already sold.

    190 vs 180 tires

I'm not sure how my input will help, but I ride an FZ1 which comes stock with the 190/50. The stock tires (same brand/type as FZ8) are total crap. I changed mine early just to get rid of them. I put on the Michelin PR3's and stayed with the 190/50. I really considered the 190/55 for better...

    2011 fazer 8

Looks great. I wish they sold the 'fazer' or 's' model in the states, but I guess the USA gets the FZ1 in 's' and the FZ8 in 'n'. Maybe Yamaha should ship them with both parts and the dealer could put on the one you want.

    GoPro Tank Mount

I have used the suction mount exclusively. It held for about 800 miles, through rain and shine. I was a bit worried because I had no tether, but it held just fine on my tank. I'll use a tether next time, just to be sure.

    FZ-8 Top Speed?

I can only get my FZ1 to 154, but considering what I'm asking 'the Beast' to carry, I figure that's still impressive. I have enough wind with my 1/4 fairing, I can't imagine 140 on a true naked.

    GoPro Tank Mount

Nice video. I agree that it needs to be higher. I have an FZ1 and I use the suction cup mount with arm in front of the gas cap (between the gas cap and the air box cover). It is tall enough to see over the gauges. I have the FZ1S with the 1/4 fairing, so I need to make sure I have a clear...

    Tail of the Dragon

I haven't been yet, but I plan to go the summer of 2013 or 2014 if I have to push it back. I want to experience the tail and ride the surrounding roads. I also want to be able to put a Dragon sticker on my bike, but I won't if I haven't ridden it there! :2cents:

    Nake vs Fairing

If you want a little more power and better suspension, the FZ1 is worth a look too. It comes with the 1/4 fairing in the US, but there is a conversion kit if you really need the naked FZ8 look. The FZ8 is a great bike, but the FZ1 might better fit what your looking for. Many used FZ1's out...

    Thank you Frame Sliders!!!

:needpics: I have an FZ1 (I'm pretty sure the FZ8 and FZ1 can use the same sliders) and I'm a fan of the T-Rex sliders. The one's they have now are a little different than the set I bought in Oct 2010, but they are very simular. I'm never been down with them, but I've heard good things from...
