I found some very very minimal travelled back roads to practice on. Or some parking lots. Depends which method. You can try power wheelies or clutch ups. Clutch ups are far easier. Youtube videos on people teaching them. Thats what I did.

I've learned to do clutch ups in first. A few times have scared me a bit because the bike seems to keep rotating(I think I catch the power band), but for the most part I just keep them 1-2ft off the ground. Second, I've only tried a few times but it just feels sketchy. Also, now that I figured...

I was out for a ride on Saturday, my buddy and I were kind of doing a "pull" down a back road. I was shifting at 10.5/11, just before redline. I was in 6th and maybe only at 9k..I let off the throttle and started to slow down and it seemed to start popping more than usual.. so I come back down...

Put the key back in the lock and see if it pops it loose? I've done this a few times.

The fz8's torque band is higher in the rpm range. To play it safe, I usually pop it at 3500-4k. I don't do power wheelies. I'll revv it to 8500 or so. Usually it's enough to pop the wheel up fine. 1st gear though. Second gear...still in the works. I rarely ever try.

I found my JT sprockets on Ebay to be honest.

I've finally figured out clutch ups. Works best at 15-20 MPH, around 3500 rpms. Pop the clutch and snap the throttle and the wheel comes right up. First gear though. Second gear I have yet to play with, but I'm happy with the little first gear pops. I'll keep practicing in first until I have it...
