Fz8 rear seat handles permanent removal

I have seen quite a few fz8's that have just the rear seat with no handles which is what i would like to do to mine as i dont take passengers on the bike but i have taken them off, put the seat back on
but I am left with 2 holes either side where the grab rail where do I need a new cowl which is wider to cover the gaps or a new tail end plastic?? any help would be appreciated as I'm still classed as a rookie rider only had my license for a year and a bit.
thanks

Hey there @Essex fz8. Have you found a solution to that problem? I have the exact same problem, the only difference is that the handles come as part of a top case support bracket that came with the bike. If I take it off and put the seat back on, I'm also left with 2 holes on each side, which is quite revealing :D It would be nice to get something to cover the gaps. I've added some photos to show the problem that both I and @Essex fz8 have.

Funny thing is that I'm also a rookie rider who got an FZ8-N as my first bike. Safe rides!

I have been researching it up and the only way I have found to get rid of the hole is to buy the rear fender plastic and have it painted to the colour of the bike it's annoying cause I'm planning on selling my bike so I wouldnt worry but were i had a small accident one of my grab rails has a slight tear in the outer rubber so I wanted to sort a new grab rail but none avaliable in the uk messaged yamaha and everything so I'm just going to buy a new rear fender and get it sprayed as I'm going to get a cbr600rr within the summer providing the corona virus dont ruin my plans

Hey guys I’d love to buy a pair of those grabbers for my fz8. Any interest in selling them to me?
As far as the holes maybe take a look at rubber flush mount auto body plugs? Might be a super simple fix.

Ok scratch that idea. Just looked at the pics and plugs won’t work. Maybe try bike salvage for a new used cowl without the cut outs

Hey @deafmetal. I do have the top case carrier base, but I make use of it. I just wanted the handles alone for when I'm riding solo because I just don't like to have the top case base there. I did find the exact part number for them - which is 39P-247J0-00-00 - but for all the sites that advertise them, they are all out of stock.

I too have been searching high and low for the passenger hand rails, and haven't been able to find them anywhere in stock... Does anyone still have extras they don't want? Or any other alternatives? I've tried searching for sidecase racks that could double as hand rails for my GF, or top cases to lean back into, but it seems like all the brackets for everything are no longer manufactured/stocked anywhere.
