Just plain crazy...
Can anyone tell me wether or not the abs version can turn its abs off if the user wanted too? Like a 675 Daytona.

That works for me too I been thinking about changing my bikes colors to white and blue instead of the white and matte grey I have now... Or do u think just swapping the gold for the blue would be better, love the look of my bike with the white so that's staying

I wish they would have colored either the side panels or the rear support struts to match. I like the blue. It's just that it quits at the front of the bike and does not continue to the rear. It's like they ran out of color!

Hmmm I wonder how those blue forks and cover would look on my matte gray. Might just have to plasti dip that and see.

Its in that location on all ABS models, the ABS unit takes up the space that the non-ABS bike's rectifier is located.

Gotcha don't have one didn't want one ;) but anyway still seems like a better spot for a component that is designed to heat up and get open air cooled ;)

The FZ8 ain't dead or gone by any means. Based on the quick fall from grace that the FZ-09 has experienced, and the continued manufacture of the FZ8 worldwide, I would not be surprised to the the FZ8 available again in North America in a year or two...uncorked, with HP equal to the FZ-09's. The FZ8 engine is effortlessly capable of exceeding 120 HP and just an air filter and ECU reflash will get you over 100 at the rear wheel.

Who is for a new FZ8, with a slight cc bump, better suspension, and opened up ECU mapping, from Yamaha in a year or so? Once the 2012's and 2013's are sold (they seem to be going quick based on what I'm hearing) Yamaha could make a lot of hay with the existing FZ8, with just performance upgrades. Great chassis, great engine, great ergos, great styling.

Even my buddy with an FZ-09 said the FZ8 was better-looking...I can't tell ya how many guys have sidled up to ogle at my FZ8, thinking it was an FZ-09, gawking at it, like it was the coolest thing on wheels, but as soon as I point out it's an Eight, they lose interest. It's just embarrassment at having made a mistake but the looks are there.

Let the FZ8 Live!!!

Performance upgrades would be great, but also is nice to personalize yourself :)

Call the fz09 what it really is (MT09) and bring the fz8 back! And while you're at it give us the REAL fz1 (naked) and fazer1 and fazer8. And for shits and gigs give us the MT07 too! THANK YOU. Sick of not having the choices other countries have.

I've got the 2013 "Race Blu" Fazer 8 / FZ8S. While I didn't like the look of the "deep purplish blue metallic" wheels and valve cover in pictures, or under artificial light in the dealership, it looks a lot better in person under daylight and has really grown on me. I'd love to have forks the same colour to match, and this new '14 model would look great with wheels to match, I think.

I've been thinking about getting the chin fairing and painting it DPBM15 to match the wheels and valve cover, to tie the front and rear of the bike together.

I think that in America most people do not understand the FZ8
so it did not sell well

I think we think of bikes as more of toys where in other nations they are looked at as transportation

I am a huge fan of the FZ8, it has a great powerband, it has enough HP for anything I use it for and it cost a hell of a lot less than a 1000cc bike to insure.

it does curves well, it has great takeoff power, it is comfy once you put a new seat on it and is never cramped, What is it that guys do not like here in America?

I think they want eirther a better 1/4 mile time or a better canyon carver, well give them that and take away what makes the 8 so friggin fantastic.

The thing does nothing wrong.

I waited for decades for them to make a middle weight bike like this, the SS bikes killed UJMs and I want a UJM.

But manufactures build what sells, and because the FZ8 is so misunderstood over here in the USA, it is gone to shores that want this kind of a bike.
