. My new bike should arrive this week sometime(2012 Black Vmax). Next spring i will get a 3rd bike , most likely the yamaha FJR1300 or the Yamaha Super Tenere, for some off road fun. I love Yamaha and will be collecting several of them for my stable. ).

Looks like you chose not to participate in the recession! Good stuff.

Someone has to get the economy going ;). Bikes are cheap compared to my 2011 Denali 3500HD Duramax ($70,000 CDN)

Somebody's got to do it! How's the denali on gas? Heard it does about 12 miles per gallon. Down hill.

I deprepped her today from the track day, Tightened the suspension, then took her for a spin to test out the new feel.

Did a 300km ride through what used to be an awesome road yesterday. Turns out that the road for the most part is rutted, pot holed and just outright terrible if you're on board an FZ8. I was riding with several other seasoned riders on varying types of super sports, nakeds and sport tourers... All of which handled the conditions better than my FZ8 with r1 front forks and FZ1 rear. I had several "moments" during the day and swapped bikes with a few guys who agreed the ride was awesome on the smooth stuff but dangerous when the road surface got wild. Tried tweaking the setup but couldn't find a happy place.
I'm seriously considering trading the bike in.... If I can't push a little on my local twisty's, there seems to be no logical reason to spend more money trying to fix the problem.
Admitidly I'm no super skilled rider and that may be part of my problem but the bike didn't seem up to the task yesterday at all, regardless of who was on it.

thats why i took advantage of the 0.0% financing suzuki had, and i traded my hard working fz8 for a gsxr-1000 2012. world of difference in suspension. i can take corners and put down a knee without worry of a bounce in an apex..

Finally got around to taking fifteen minutes and installing my Penske shock that's been sitting in my garage collecting dust for a couple of weeks. Huge difference having a shock that works with a spring that's right for my weight. Will definitely take some getting used to after riding around with the relatively soft stocker.

Tried to wash my bike, didn't get all of it. Put some chain lube on, it was needed!
However, now i'm done with my bike. I'm really satisfied how it looks and works.

From the shop, day 1.

And now...

No big changes, just mirrors/indicators/levers/slip-on.
I'm going to keep it simple, I thought I would have this bike forever when I bought it, cause I bought it with that purpose.
Time will tell !

EDIT: Oh! I bought the Rizoma Spy R and when they arrived I got kinda suprised, damn they were small! But they start to grow on me now, still a bit downside about them..

Put on a Yoshimura R-77D exhaust.

Is there decel pop on the 77D? I can't be certain I hear decel pop, my helmet is pretty snug and blocks out most of that stuff. But I think I hear it under hard decel and gears.

Nothing, it's back in the shop. Going on 2.5 weeks. From the middle of May until today the dealer has had my bike 7.5 weeks. At this point I don't even care anymore.

What is that ribbed thing just below your crankshaft cover? My bike doesn't have that.
